Laser-Assisted Intrastromal Keratomeleusis, or LASIK, is the most advanced refractive surgical technique. During the LASIK surgery procedure, an out layer of the cornea is lifted up to form a flap and the underlying corneal tissue is then reshaped by use of a laser. This flap is self-sealing and requires no stitches in order to heal. The entire procedure takes less than ten minutes per eye and many people are able to see results instantly. Advancements LASIK technology now offers the ability to correct for multiple conditions such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

Pentacam by Oculus

To insure safety Harbor Lasik Center is proud to be one of the first facilities on the west coast to utilize the Pentacam by Oculus. The Pentacam is a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging device that provides us with a 3-D representation of both the front and back surfaces of your cornea. We can now view these structures more accurately and in greater detail than any device has ever been able to in the past. This advanced technology provides us with important information about your vision to insure safety and accuracy in determining if you are a good candidate for refractive surgery.

VISX CustomVue Lasik Surgery Procedure

CustomVue technology enables the physician to measure and correct unique imperfections in each individual's vision. As shown in an FDA clinical study, the CustomVue procedure has the potential to produce better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses.

VISX STAR S4 Excimer Laser System

The most advanced laser technology platform available today. The VISX STAR S4 combines Variable Spot Scanning (VSS) and ActiveTrak 3-D Active Eye Tracking along with the WaveScan, providing physicians with the best possible treatment options for their patients.

WaveScan Technology

Originally developed for use in high-powered telescopes to reduce distortions in space, now adapted for eye care. A single beam of infrared laser light is passed into the eye and focused on the retina. The light is then reflected off the retina, passed back through the eye, through a lenslet array to a sensor, and then analyzed from 200 different aspects to create a map of the eye - or fingerprint of vision. This technology uncovers unique characteristics of the eye never measured before using standard methods for glasses and contact lenses.

IntraLase Blade-Free Laser

We are the first in the South Sound to have a Laser to create the flap of LASIK. This technology is 6 times safer than making a flap with a blade.
